It would be impossible to talk about the history of tennis tournaments at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club without mentioning Bob and Mike Bryan. Here are a few words of appreciation from our President, Mr. William J. Kellogg on their retirement:
“The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club extends its hearty congratulations to Bob and Mike Bryan for their unequaled record as a doubles team and for the incredibly positive impact they have had on the world. They have been role models throughout their careers, they have an incredible Davis Cup record, they are Olympic Gold Medalists, they have won every Grand Slam and they have won more pro tennis matches than any other team in history. We are especially proud to claim that they played right here at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club in the Pacific Coast Doubles, in our Father/Son National Hard Courts and in an historic Davis Cup match played in 2006 on a tennis court constructed on our golf course. A few years later, the Bryan Brothers Foundation brought more than 200 kids to San Diego to watch the Davis Cup matches at Petco Park. They have truly been a dynamic duo!”
